Lane Closure for Milling Operations

Why Lane Closures?

Lane closures allow the iROX crews to prepare the interstate for the addition of new travel lanes. The first step was to rebuild the outside shoulders so traffic can drive on it. iROX crews first closed the right lane. That meant all vehicles used the left lane of I-75. The closure provided a buffer zone between traffic and iROX crews who first removed the shoulder pavement then resurfaced it with new asphalt.

iROX crews then turned their focus to the outside travel lane of I-75. The same process of grinding and repaving took place. Traffic will continue to use the left lane of I-75 as this work proceeds.

The final step in this operation involved the left lane. Traffic moved to the newly rebuilt outside shoulders while iROX crews removed the asphalt and resurfaced the left lane. Once that work was complete actual construction of the new north and southbound lanes of I-75 began.

Cones, signs and boards used for the lane closures will be removed each morning prior to the start of rush hour.
